Kingdom Knives began as the dream of the company's president, Donald Cota Jr. He envisioned a knife company that produced products completely made in the USA with superior blade edge retention, a knife that through normal usage will never need to be sharpened.

An engineer for over 30 years in machine technology with special applications in aerospace technology, he studied the knife making process over a six year timeframe and determined that a knife could be made to such high specifications.

He approached Gilbert Jenne, the company's plant manager and master tool and die maker, to produce a prototype of such a knife. After extensive field testing of the prototype, Don and Gil were satisfied they had achieved their objective and wanted to share this innovative knife with others. Gil designed a handle to house this superior blade that would make the knife a comfortable tool as well as durable and attractive.
